Nibelung's first track day...
Stock everything except: 15/42 gearing, ARD fairing & seat (stock exhaust and airbox comes in just on CC's 105dBA noise limit! - second venue 2008/06/04 it came in at 101dBA) & PowerBronze dubbub.
Suspension set to middle of the 'race' range.
Handling and braking (front only) superb! Could perhaps do with a bit more front compression damping.

Follow-up:
You can find a couple more pics at: 2008/05/07 CC Top-6 (//www.zen50505.zen.co.uk/20080507CC-top6/)
I've since had the suspension adjusted with 10N/mm front spring (STD=9.5N/mm) and the oil height corrected to 85mm (it was only 95mm) [Plug: my suspension guru is Mark Hammond (http://www.mhracing.com)]

Ian,
Thanks for the compliment. You should have come over to the paddock and said hello (the appearance might be a bit grizzly, but the psyche's friendly...:))
Next time at CC will be 2008/06/04, then off to Donington for July and Oulton for August, before returning to CC for my end of season in September.
Anyone else fancy coming along? See the calendar for details.

MY stock cans and modded airbox registered 95db at croft, surely something amiss with their equipment to get 105db, that is really quite loud at 105db, strange.
Bike looks good, is it purely for track work?
Yes, purely a track beast - I'm too tall/old to find riding a sports bike on the road comfortable, hence the Multistrada.
CC take a measurement perpendicular to the exhaust outlet at 7000 rpm.
By comparison, a mate's stock Ducati SR4S came in at 101-2 dBA.

Thats wrong for a twin, they should take it at 5000rpm, 7k is for an inline 4 reading
With an over-zealous parish council just waiting for an excuse to close the venue down, it's surprising how closed to negotiation they can be! (The PC actually sends a rep up to the venue with a sound meter!) But hey, if it keeps the venue open, I'm happy to comply.
FWIW, the actual text is "105 db(A), which is measured at ½ metre from the exhaust outlet at ¾ maximum revs." so technically, I can't see how that prejudices the RSV's case.
BTW, another mate with a Yamaha RD500LC failed the test!
Just a quick qualification.
I was up at CC again on 2008/06/04 and Nibelung tested at 101 dBA......:dunno
