in my opininion they Japonified the later models with a Sp1 alike front and too much choppy styling.(although I wouldnt say no to a new model )

:laugh I'm too slow :stupid

I like the new one from just behind the headlights back. The ram air intake is just to VTRish for me :(

Definitely the old shape for me, the new ones are too small when you're 6ft4

New shape for me looks the business, with sharp crisp lines, smoother to ride and mad when you want it to be....

Old shape for me, prefer new shape tail end tho, doesnt look so fat and bulky.

me and my dad have always liked the old shape since it's launch , i think the new shape has taken on the japanese styling wich i think looks silly and don't get me wrong they still look faboules but i think they lost the italienness

what do you think ?

Yer i know what ya mean, they once stood alone on styling and i bought mine for the looks and the V twin, they do seem to have joined the look like every other bike brigade of manufacturers but so have Ducati and Benneli.

yeah agreed , ducati really have with the 1098 , benneli always were the only thing anyone likes is the couler schemes really , ducati needed to follow the band wagon because if they had kept the look of that horid 999 http://bikeintro.com/wp-content/ducati_999s.thumbnail.jpg
they would be history i think ...... old shape aprilia's rule :thumbup

see i also think in performance that the new one is less aggresive , even as a passenger you feel the difference thats why me and my dad love our shape mille , now loads of people will argue but i think the older one handles better and just is a better package for a sportsbike i think the new one is much more easier to live with and i don't like the size of it the older one is nice and big.... i felt miniture on the new one ( the couler schemes are wrong aswell ) what you think ?

Newer one ... but the older one feels more authentic ... good call

i still have a spot for the older ones, but the newer one looks waaay better IMHO> yes, the front smacks RC-51, but i think that claim is lessening. GP bikes and other production bikes are starting to have similar intakes as well...centralized air intake == more air pressure going in...honda was just the first one to figure it out :O

i also really enjoy the angular lines on the new one...what can i say, i'm a modern art kinda guy :O

i much prefer the front end of the old one and the rest of the new, but there's just no two ways about it that the new one in that pic, in that colour is by far the best lookin RSV i've ever seen and not just because I have one

i have to agree with little1uk , IT IS NOT BECAUSE MY DADS GOT ONE that i think that it's awsome i think it looks really italien the new ones have taken on the japanese styling ......

old for me! ridden both no comparison!new one to soft for my liking is smoother though but not as much fun less grunty not as wheelie prone as old one is . think aprilia are falling inline with the japs abit i mean look at the new v4 (like a 675/fireblade) (in my opinion before everybody starts):thumbup
asked don at southerncross the same question (little1 was there) he said depends what you want out of a bike .the fastest he has been on a track is with the old one even though his new shape racebike has more bhp at rear wheel .says alot to me that does either way they are both good bikes but needs to be something good from aprilia to make me part from me old one in fact it will get handed down to millekid

Shame the poll's closed, I could have brought the score closer together! Newer one for me (yes I have one). I prefer the balanced looks of 2 (smaller) pipes and the flattened out look. The very rounded look of the older model doesn't do it for me, in fact (he says donning a tin hat) the older shaped reminds me of the Hayabusa :done

Having had both, got to go for the new one or I won't have changed.

But both are RSV's so who cares which one as long as you own one
