Are the newer models suppose to have a stock damper? I have an 07.5' and can't seem to find one.

I think only the RSV factory comes with the Ohlins steering damper (Ohlins front/rear shocks as well).

Standard RSV comes with Ohlins front shocks only. You have to add on the damper and rear shock.

they were located in a really silly place behind the headlights, so it is impossible to adjust it as you ride. Its well worth investing in a rotary damper like the Scotts stabilisers or a sprint damper which are both mounted on the top so are easy to adjust. The ohlins damper the aprilia uses is a budget version.

I think that all the RSV 98 to 03 models had steering dampers fitted as standard so unless you've removed it your mille has got steering damper hidden away in front of the headstock.

My KTM hasn't got a steering damper and its a real bitch when you hit a bump in the road at over a ton, good fun though:devious

My steering damper really needs to be stiffer! I couldn't reach it when riding and then haven't been on it sine then. Bumpy a Roads and a stiff rear shock means it shakes its head all the time!
