Hi Everyone
As you probably guessed I'm new here.
I have a little question, I'm going to look at an 03 Mille tomorrow, I've always fancied one and I have space in the garage now after getting rid of a few bikes.
Problem being as I've never owned one of these before I don't know what to look for, is there anything in particular that was problematic on these bikes? Or is there anything I should know about them before looking?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Simon

starter clutch can be a problem(V expensive to fix), o/w they are generally ok, done 43k on mine with nae probs apart from tilt switch.Check theres rubber on the tyres and life in the chsain as milles are heavy on both. The rear shock(if its the sachs one) may well be shagged by now(you dont mentin the mileage) HTH

Hi
Thanks for that, to answer your question, it's done 8000 miles, the guy that owns it has replaced the standard shock with an ohlins one.
Plus he has done quite a few things to it, apart from ride it all that often!! LOL!

Hi Simon,
Check the swingarm is not dented behind the exhaust, it would suggest the bike's been dropped. Check the HPI, doggy painting etc. Careful when switching it on. ALWAYS use chock in cold starts and NEVER use the throttle. Don't be shy with the start button, don't let go until the bike has fired up (do a search about it in this site for more info) . If the bike's not going to be used on a daily basis, hook the battery to an optimate. I'm sure I'm forgetting lots of things but it is a brilliant bike, lot's of fun. Good luck
