Valve Clearance Intervals

Hi

I've heard that Aprilia has announced that RSVRs with serial number starting ZD4RR and later only need to have the valve clearances checked at 1000kms and then every 20000kms (mine's a '04 ZD4RR). However, the service centre at my local Aprilia dealer still seems to think that the valve clearances should be checked every service, and when I contacted Aprilia Customer Services they just referred me back to the dealer. Anyone know what the latest information is? :O

I've also heard of the extended intervals.

I use a well respected dealer and will always go with what they suggest on mine....

I've got one of the first 04's on a 53 plate (Not checked chassis number yet tho!) and I have just had them checked for the first time at 13100 on a service. They were fine!

Live in Colchester but trek to Southern Cross Aprilia in Kilburn/London. Just ask for Don as he is the guru or Andy. Bunch of Aussies that run it, they are the nuts and very competitive when it comes to the bill!!! Will always take mine there every time without fail. :thumbup

No need for commission, the top class service and advice ls good enough for me.:thumbup

My old RSV didn't need touching until about 28K, sold it at 36K
